Windows Installer XML (WiX) is an open source toolset from Microsoft that allows Windows Installer packages (MSIs) to be written declaratively using XML. Because it leverages console based tools and MSBUILD to build the packages, it is ideal for use in a Continuous Integration framework, allowing testers and stakeholders to get up to the minute installer builds. Through the use of Merge Modules and its own library creating capability, it facilitates robust sharing of installer components across projects. This talk will demonstrate the basic use of the toolset and how it can integrated into an agile development environment and for Deployment Packaging of
paper writing services.
Ben Greenberg
Ben Greenberg has been writing software since he was in short pants, and sometimes can still be seen wearing short pants. He has developed in many languages for many platforms, and is currently focused on C# development and deployment at NeatReceipts, a document management software company in Philadelphia.
